AFP Urges Against “Zombie-trading” on Electric Vehicle Tax Credit, Tax Extenders

Apr 11, 2019 by AFP

Arlington, Va. – Americans for Prosperity Chief Government Affairs Officer Brent Gardner issued the following statement following reports that Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) won’t oppose reviving and expanding electric vehicle tax credits in a bill renewing lapsed tax extenders:

“Congress should be working to make sure these zombie tax extenders stay dead, not bring them back to life stronger than they were before. This is exactly the kind of special interest horse-trading that tax reform was intended to eliminate. The economy is booming, thanks in large part to tax reform. There’s no need to be stumbling through the corporate welfare graveyard to dig up bad policy.”
