Activists will phone bank with neighbors on free-market, school choice issues.
NAHSVILLE – AFP-TN will host the first of many events spurring activisim to stop the federal overreach of Common Core on our education system. A phone bank is planned for Saturday in Murfreesboro. Tennesseans will be polled regarding Common Core, taxes, and other free-market issues.
AFP-TN State Director Andrew Ogles had the following to say:
“Today, Oklahoma stopped Common Core, and it’s time for Tennessee to do the same. AFP is committed to ending federal overreach in Tennessee’s classrooms and we are going to take this fight across the state. Taxpayers are tired of legislators claiming to be conservative; by the end of this fight, we will know who represents Tennessee and who represents big government.”
WHAT: AFP Day of Action: Stop Common Core Phone Bank
WHEN: Saturday, June 7, 9:30AM-5:30PM
WHERE: Fairfield Inn and Suites, 175 Chaffin Pl., Murfreesboro, TN 37129
The phone bank is still open to additional volunteers. A two-hour commitment is all that’s required to make a difference on this day of action. Remote login information is available for activists outside of the middle Tennessee area.
