LANSING — The Michigan chapter of Americans for Prosperity is thanking several state senators for voting a significant tax cut out of committee and onto the full floor of the Michigan Senate.
AFP is designating as Taxpayer Champions the following state senators: Jack Brandenburg (Harrison Township), Mark Jansen (Grand Rapids), John Pappageorge (Troy), John Proos (St. Joseph), and David Robertson (Grand Blanc).
“Americans for Prosperity-Michigan wants to convey its sincerest thanks to these state senators who put the people of Michigan first. The hard-working residents of this great state are the reason Michigan has a $1 billion surplus. These same citizens deserve to get their own money back — particularly because spending in Lansing has increased more than even the rate of inflation over the past decade,” said AFP-MI State Director Scott Hagerstrom.
“26 of the 38 senators have sponsored this legislation, and we look forward to giving this award to every one of them who votes for it, giving the average Michigan worker a well-deserved $175 tax cut every year.”
The legislation ensures Michiganders will benefit from the tax surplus the state is enjoying by reducing income tax rates over multiple years. AFP supports passing the bill through the full legislature.
