Americans for Prosperity Press Release

AFP Thanks Senators Who Stood Against Biden Administration’s Harmful NEPA Reforms

Aug 4, 2022 by AFP

Arlington, VA – Today, 50 senators voted to end the Biden Administration’s National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Implementing Regulations Revisions. Americans for Prosperity thanks Sen. Sullivan (R-AK) and the 49 other senators who voted in favor of S.J. Res. 55.

The vote moves S.J. Res. 55 to the House for consideration and America one step closer to ending frivolous regulations that would have cost the taxpayer millions and delayed crucial infrastructure improvements.

While there is more NEPA reform needed, today’s vote is a step in the right direction and signals a growing desire to address cumbersome, cost-raising, and anti-growth NEPA regulation.

In 2021, AFP said that the Biden Administration’s reinterpretation of NEPA’s Implementing Regulations “erects and magnifies unnecessary and decades-old federal red tape. President Biden’s agenda will delay and increase the cost of building roads, bridges, and new energy development and ultimately cost Americans.”

AFP encourages the House of Representatives to end the NEPA Implementing Regulations Revisions and free American infrastructure from pointless red tape and frivolous expenses.
