ALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Americans for Prosperity-Utah (AFP-UT) thanked Governor Herbert for removing regulatory barriers for health care providers that will increase access to care while protecting the larger community amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The governor issued an Executive Order suspending sections of Utah statute that may make it difficult for health providers to provide telehealth care to patients.

AFP-UT State Director Heather Andrews had this to say about the order:

“We thank Governor Herbert for taking timely and targeted action to ensure as many Utahns as possible can safely accesses health care services.

“As Utah’s largest grassroots organization we are ready to come along side government during this crisis. We look forward to working with policy makers to take actions that protect public health and position Utah to prosper once we’ve weathered this pandemic.”

AFP-UT has long supported expanding telemedicine access, as well as reforms that will increase access and lower health care costs for all Utahns.
