AFP-SD Applauds the Passage of HB 1079

Feb 19, 2019 by AFP

SIOUX FALLS, SD—Americans for Prosperity-South Dakota (AFP-SD) applauds the South Dakota Legislature for sending barrier breaking legislation, H.B. 1079, to the Governor’s desk. H.B. 1079 removes unnecessary red tape on the books that requires occupational licensing for South Dakotans to perform plumbing work on their property.

AFP-SD State Director Don Haggar issued the following statement:

“South Dakotans should not be required to receive a permission slip from the government in order to work in their chosen profession—much less performing normal maintenance on their own property. We applaud the legislature’s efforts in passing HB 1079 and are hopeful that Governor Noem removes this barrier on homeowners.”
