TALLAHASSEE—Following Governor Scott’s budget presentation this morning, Americans for Prosperity’s Florida State Director Slade O’Brien released the following statement:

“With more than a billion dollars of expected surplus revenue this year, Americans for Prosperity is pleased to see confirmed what we all already expected – Governor Scott’s focus is on cutting taxes and state debt so that more money will stay in the pockets of Florida’s hard working families and businesses.

Florida is recovering from the great recession at a faster rate than most states; that is clear reflection of the leadership, tough choices and smart policies of this administration.   It’s refreshing to see a Governor that prefers to use a surplus to give back to the taxpayers rather than growing government, as has often been the focus of previous administrations.”
