ObamaCare still a colossal failure by the administration’s own metrics

Arlington, Va. — Americans for Prosperity, the nation’s foremost advocate for health care freedom, responded to the President’s announcement today that 7.1 million Americans have signed up for ObamaCare during the first open enrollment period.

AFP Policy Director Mac Zimmerman said the following: “It’s disappointing that the President is once again choosing politics over people. He doesn’t want to admit it, but millions of Americans are being hurt by ObamaCare. Individuals and families across the country have lost the health care plans and doctors that they’ve come to depend on. Their premiums are rising, and it’s only going to get worse.

“There’s a lot this administration isn’t telling us. The President has conveniently failed to mention that many of the 7.1 million enrollees are individuals whose plans were cancelled because of ObamaCare. Furthermore, only one in three of the 7 million enrollees were previously uninsured. Given that the intent of ObamaCare was to cover the uninsured, the President’s health care law is still a colossal failure. Boasting about enrollment numbers doesn’t change that.

“This administration will say and do anything to avoid admitting that their signature health care law is a terrible deal for millions of Americans across the country.”
