Arlington, Va. — Americans for Prosperity is commending President Trump after the White House announced the administration would review the CAFE fuel economy standards which were set to continue rising in coming years.

AFP Vice President of External Affairs Christine Harbin had this to say:

“We’re pleased the Trump administration agrees that we need to review the CAFE standard and ensure it doesn’t place undue burden on Americans who rely on their cars to get to work and make a living. These costly fuel economy rules are one more way the previous administration increased costs for Americans by hiking the price of owning and using a car, something many Americans simply can’t do without.”

The group has consistently been expressing approval of a number of executive orders coming out of the White House, that aim to review or roll back damaging regulations put in place during the Obama administration, including review to the costly, damaging Clean Power Plan and Waters of the United States policies.
