AFP Partners With 22 Groups Telling Congress to Pass Budget Resolution, Tax Reform

Oct 20, 2017 by AFP

Americans for Prosperity, the nation’s leading grassroots advocate for tax reform, has partnered with 22 like-minded groups to send a letter to Congress urging them to pass comprehensive tax reform.

The fiscal year 2018 budget resolution, which recently passed the Senate, lays the groundwork for Congress to act on comprehensive tax reform that lowers rates, simplifies the code and spurs economic growth. That’s why AFP and the other 22 groups support the budget resolution laid out by the Senate.

When the Senate passed the budget resolution, AFP Director of Federal Affairs Mary Kate Hopkins said:

“The passage of the Senate budget resolution signals that lawmakers are unifying around the bold, pro-growth tax reform plan laid out by President Trump and leaders in Congress. We’re encouraged to see Senators take this important step toward unrigging the economy. With this once-in-a-generation opportunity at hand, we are urging the House to swiftly adopt the Senate budget resolution in order to ensure the American people see tax relief by the end of the year. AFP is dedicated to advancing tax reform that will benefit the middle-class Americans who need it most, and we look forward to continuing our work with Congress and the Trump administration to advance this shared goal.”

AFP has also recently ramped up its multimillion-dollar ad buy, urging Senators in 11 new states to support tax reform, in addition to ads that were already airing in Missouri, Wisconsin and Indiana.
