ARLINGTON, Va. – As leaders in Congress and the administration negotiate reopening the federal government, Americans for Prosperity President Tim Phillips issued the following statement on the opportunity to reach a deal that includes a permanent solution for Dreamers:
“Providing certainty for Dreamers has long been a top priority for both parties – and for an overwhelming majority of the American people. We are encouraged that the administration has indicated a willingness to reach a bipartisan compromise, and we strongly urge Congressional leadership to place a permanent solution for Dreamers back on the table as negotiations to open the federal government continue. Funding for border security and certainty for Dreamers is a deal that both sides should agree on – now is the time to put politics aside and do what’s right for the country.”
