AFP-Nebraska Launches Multimedia Effort to Fight ObamaCare Medicaid Expansion

Mar 7, 2014 by AFP

LINCOLN — Today Americans for Prosperity-Nebraska (AFP-NE) announced the launch of a major new multimedia effort aimed at educating Nebraskans about the problems with the ObamaCare Medicaid expansion and encouraging grassroots action to oppose LB 887.

The ad will run in markets across the state. Listen here.

Additionally, the organization launched, where Nebraskans can learn more and send a message to lawmakers that they oppose expansion.

AFP-Nebraska Director Matt Litt released the following statement:

“Expanding Medicaid would simply double down on a failed system that is too costly and doesn’t provide quality care to those who need it most. At the same time, it would advance the implementation of ObamaCare in Nebraska. A vote for a bill like LB 887 is a vote for more ObamaCare, plain and simple.

“Through this effort, Nebraskans will learn that the ObamaCare Medicaid expansion would prioritize the new enrollees over the most vulnerable in our state who already have trouble finding quality care. Expansion also threatens to put Nebraskans on the hook for millions of dollars when the promise of federal funding disappears as soon as the next federal budget crisis. Senators in Lincoln should think about the long-term well-being of our state before making a short-sighted vote for more ObamaCare.”

A February poll found that 64 percent of likely voters in Nebraska oppose ObamaCare, but LB 887 would codify another part of that policy.

The new radio ad continues AFPNE’s wall-to-wall effort to hold elected officials accountable for their positions on ObamaCare and Medicaid expansion, supported by robust grassroots action throughout the state including events, direct mail, and online advocacy.
