Monday Press Conference Announced

Arlington, VA – Today Americans for Prosperity reveals that a broad coalition of organizations has coalesced around opposition to reauthorizing the Export-Import bank, which subsidizes loans to foreign companies to encourage them to buy American exports. The coalition will be rolling out significant efforts to ensure the Export-Import bank is not reauthorized later this year, and will hold a press conference on Monday to announce specific efforts.

AFP President Tim Phillips said, “Any politician that identifies as fiscally responsible should support our efforts to end the Export-Import bank. It is little more than corporate welfare for a select few, propped up on the backs of American taxpayers. This bank has a negative impact on the economy and is in danger of a taxpayer-funded bailout. It’s time to break the bank and stop distorting the marketplace.”
