BILLINGS — The Montana chapter of Americans for Prosperity, the nation’s foremost grassroots advocate for health care freedom, launched a multimedia campaign aimed at thanking Rep. Steve Daines for standing with Montanans and fighting ObamaCare.
The television ad will run across the state for three weeks on both broadcast and cable at a cost of roughly $400,000. View the TV ad here.
AFP President Tim Phillips said, “At AFP, we work hard to hold politicians accountable when they do the wrong thing, but it’s just as important to recognize those who are standing up against bad policy. That’s why we’re recognizing Congressman Daines for being a reliable opponent of ObamaCare, which has led to cancelled coverage, less choice, and higher costs.”
“Accountability isn’t just criticizing bad actions,” said AFP-Montana State Director Joe Balyeat, “it includes thanking those who are standing up for Montanans when it comes to our health care choices and freedoms. That’s why we’re launching this new ad next week across the state. We need our lawmakers to be thinking about people, not politics, and we thank Congressman Daines for doing that.”
Americans for Prosperity has consistently opposed ObamaCare since it began working its way through Congress in 2009.
The ad buy in Montana follows accountability ads launched last week in Michigan and Arizona pressuring lawmakers who are still supporting ObamaCare.
Tens of thousands of activists have already signed AFP’s “Exempt Me, Too!” petition, asking President Obama to give them the same special treatment that Congress and the well-connected have received under the law.
