AFP Key Vote: YES on HR 1628: The “2015 Repeal” Amendment

Jul 25, 2017 by AFP

Dear Senators:

On behalf of more than two million Americans for Prosperity activists in all 50 states, I write to urge you to vote YES on the “2015 Repeal” amendment to the Senate healthcare reconciliation package.

We urge you to vote YES on the so-called “2015 repeal” amendment to HR 1628.  Americans for Prosperity will include this vote in our congressional scorecard.

For many years, Americans have suffered under Obamacare.  Since implementation of this failed law began in 2013, millions of health care policies have been cancelled, premiums have skyrocketed, and many Americans have faced increased difficulty in obtaining quality, affordable care.

This amendment would provide relief to American families and businesses by zeroing out the individual and employer mandates, most of Obamacare’s taxes, Medicaid expansion, and subsidies.  We believe passage of this amendment is an important first step in the effort to restore consumer choice and expand access to quality, affordable coverage that people want at prices they can afford. We call on members to address the cost drivers to insurance premiums through subsequent amendments.

We urge you to vote YES on the so-called “2015 repeal” amendment to HR 1628. Americans for Prosperity will include this vote in our congressional scorecard.

Americans for Prosperity will review future amendments and announce scoring as available.
