AFP KEY VOTE: YES ON H.R. 3441

Nov 6, 2017 by AFP

Dear Representatives:

On behalf of more than 3.2 million Americans for Prosperity activists in all 50 states, I urge a YES vote on H.R. 3441, the “Save Local Business” Act that would reverse the National Labor Relations Board’s “joint-employer” rule.

We urge you to vote YES on H.R. 3441. Americans for Prosperity will include this vote in our congressional scorecard.

The National Labor Relations Board’s 2015 decision in the Browning-Ferris case extended liability from individual franchises and subcontractors to faraway corporate headquarters by creating a broad and vague “indirect control” standard, subjecting them to an increased risk of litigation and union harassment for employees they do not oversee. The ruling undermined the model of small business that drives the economy and defines communities across America.

H.R. 3441 would establish a more reasonable “direct and immediate” responsibility standard, and eliminate a government-imposed burden that made entrepreneurship more expensive and less attractive. This legislation represents another opportunity to roll back unnecessary and politically-motivated red tape and an important first step toward pro-growth labor reform.

We urge you to vote YES on H.R. 3441, the Save Local Business Act. Americans for Prosperity will include this vote in our congressional scorecard.

Sincerely,
