Dear Representatives:
On behalf of nearly three million Americans for Prosperity activists in all 50 states, I write to urge you to vote YES to override the President’s veto of the Restoring American’s Healthcare Freedom and Reconciliation Act of 2015 (H.R. 3762), which repeals and delays major parts of the President’s health care law.
We urge you to vote YES to override the President’s veto of H.R. 3762, which would repeal or delay major parts of the President’s health care law. Americans for Prosperity will include this vote in our congressional scorecard.
Since major portions of the law went into effect in 2013, Americans have seen first-hand that it has failed to live up to the lofty promises made by President Obama and his allies. Millions of Americans have had their health plans cancelled despite President Obama’s repeated pledges that, “if you like your plan, you can keep your plan.” The President also promised that his plan would lower premiums by as much $2500 per family per year, but instead millions of Americans have seen their premiums increase year after year.
Overriding the President’s veto would relieve the American people of the law’s most onerous burdens. This legislation repeals the coverage mandates on individuals and employers, repeals the medical device tax and the tax on high cost-employer sponsored health plans, and eliminates the Prevention and Public Health Fund. Similar legislation has enjoyed bi-partisan support in both chambers in the current and past Congresses.
We urge you to vote YES to override the President’s veto of H.R. 3762, which would repeal or delay major parts of the President’s health care law. Americans for Prosperity will include this vote in our congressional scorecard.
