Dear Senators:
On behalf of more than 3.2 million activists in all 50 states, I write urging you to vote NO on the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (S. 3042), which would continue to subsidize massive corporate welfare policies at the expense of the taxpayer.
We urge you to vote NO on S. 3042, the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018. Americans for Prosperity will include your vote in our congressional scorecard.
With federal spending reaching unsustainable levels, Congress had an excellent opportunity this year to take real action to reform the massive farm bill, which historically has been loaded up with handouts for special interests and wasteful programs. Unfortunately, S. 3042 is a status quo bill that delivers more of the same bad policies and leaves taxpayers on the hook.
In its current form, S. 3042 remains littered with government programs that cost taxpayers billions each year, with no meaningful reforms to farm or nutrition programs. This farm bill has, yet again, proven to be another example of the federal government picking winners and losers, expecting taxpayers to foot the bill. Members should reject this bill and instead pass a clean, one-year extension of the programs and use that time to develop positive, comprehensive reforms to the entire bill that promote free markets and respect taxpayers.
We urge you to vote NO on S. 3042, the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018. Americans for Prosperity will include your vote in our congressional scorecard.
