On behalf of millions of Americans for Prosperity activists in all 50 states, I write urging you to vote no on H.R. 9 Climate Action Now Act. This legislation would prohibit the use of funds to withdraw from the Paris Agreement and directs the President to develop a Plan for the United States to meet its nationally determined contribution under the Agreement
We urge you to vote NO on H.R. 9 Climate Action Now Act. Americans for Prosperity will include this vote in our congressional scorecard.
We care deeply about the environment but rejoining the Paris Agreement is not an effective way to address environmental concerns. The U.S. has long been a global leader in reducing greenhouse emissions thanks to innovation driven by our system of free enterprise, and since the year 2000, no country has been more successful in reducing emissions than America. Moreover, U.S. per capita CO2 emissions are as low as they have been at any point since 1950.
At AFP we recognize that abundant, affordable and reliable energy is a key driver of our prosperity and security and that it is an irreplaceable feature in a society of mutual benefit.
We are confident that through ingenuity and innovation the United States will continue to lead by example, without having to be tied to arbitrary mandates that would impose substantial costs.
We urge you to vote NO on H.R. 9 Climate Action Now Act. Americans for Prosperity will include this vote in our congressional scorecard.
