AFP: Janus Case Highlights Need for Right to Work in New Hampshire

Grassroots group advocates for greater freedom for Granite State workers

CONCORD, N.H.—Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire (AFP-NH) highlighted the gravity of Janus v. AFSCME, a landmark case for worker freedom and free speech being heard by the United States Supreme Court on Monday.

“Without right to work laws, Granite Staters are being forced to pay money to groups that do not speak for them,” said Greg Moore, AFP-NH State Director. “Coercing workers to pay unions that they aren’t part of, in order to keep their jobs is fundamentally wrong.  Moreover, it takes hard-earned money away from people that could go to taking care of a family, pursuing and education, or investing for the future. We have been working to bring these simple protections to New Hampshire for a while now, and we are hopeful this case will result in worker freedom for public-sector employees and further highlight the merits of giving workers the right to work.”
