AFP Issues Statement of Support for the Freedom to Work Act

Arlington, Va. – Americans for Prosperity Chief Government Affairs Officer Brent Gardner issued the following statement in support of the Freedom to Work Act, which was introduced by Rep. Diana Harshbarger (TN-1) and would help remove unneeded governmental occupational licensing and related employment barriers for millions of Americans:

“Americans for Prosperity applauds Representative Harshbarger for her leadership in introducing the Freedom to Work Act, which would help remove unneeded governmental occupational licensing and related employment barriers for millions of Americans. Not only would this legislation help drive federal level reforms that also clear the way for states to reduce licensing barriers, it would ensure Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act program funding is used effectively. The Freedom to Work Act would help reduce the barriers that lead to reduced employment in the first place.”
