Were you aware that some politicians in Springfield are considering yet another tax hike, one that could affect 85% of Illinois taxpayers?  Join state Representatives John Anthony, Tom Cross and David McSweeney for a townhall meeting to learn about the progressive income tax proposal.

Despite having one of the highest unemployment rates in the country and on the heels of a 67% state income tax hike just three years ago, our legislators are once again considering raising our taxes. An amendment to the Illinois Constitution has been offered to scrap Illinois’ flat income tax and switch to a graduated, or “progressive,” one. While proponents claim this hike would only affect “the rich,” the fact is that one proposal would raise the marginal tax rate on anyone earning more than $5,000.

Join local legislators and AFP-IL staff on Monday, Feb. 17th for a townhall discussion about the Progressive Income Tax proposal.

Stopping the progressive tax is a big challenge. Our townhall is an opportunity to educate yourself on the issue, hear the facts and help stop Springfield’s tax hike proposal.

Please plan to join us on the 17th!

Unable to join us but still want to help? Go here to visit our Action Center & send a note to your legislator urging them to oppose this job-killing proposal.
