AFP: Health Care Reform Must Continue in the Senate

May 4, 2017 by AFP

Arlington, Va. – Americans for Prosperity President Tim Phillips issued this statement following the passage of HR 1628, the American Health Care Act:

“Obamacare has made a disaster of our health care system and Americans deserve better. The inclusion of the MacArthur-Meadows amendment made the House bill better by allowing states more flexibility to improve access and address rising costs.

“However, much has to be done in order to fix health care. This does not repeal the expensive Obamacare mandates and subsidies that continue to make care unaffordable. We will continue to look for ways to improve health care, lower costs, increase access, and end the Obamacare death spiral that is playing out across the country.

“We look forward to working with health care champions in the Senate and HHS Secretary Price to deliver patient-centered health care.”
