AFP Disappointed by Senate Failure to Protect Free Speech

Dec 12, 2018 by AFP

ARLINGTON, Va. – In response to S.J. Res. 64 passing by a vote of 50-49, Americans for Prosperity Chief Government Affairs Officer Brent Gardner issued the following statement:

“No one should be the subject of intimidation or retaliation based on their personal beliefs. Collecting private information serves little to no purpose for government investigators, but poses a real risk to the privacy of American citizens. The failure to reject this harmful legislation unfortunately undermines free speech and free association by putting that risk back on the table.”
