AFP-CO Statement on the Senate Confirmation of Justice Amy Coney Barrett

Denver, Colo. – Americans for Prosperity-Colorado (AFP-CO) congratulated Judge Amy Coney Barrett on her confirmation by the U.S. Senate to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court and commended its grassroots activists for their incredible work to ensure Judge Barrett’s confirmation. Since the launch of AFP’s full scale campaign, which began just minutes after Judge Barrett’s nomination by President Trump on Sep. 26^th, AFP grassroots activists have made and sent more than 750,000 – three quarters of a million – phone calls and letters to their senators urging them to confirm Judge Barrett to the high court.

AFP-CO joined the national campaign, and Coloradans sent and made letters and phone calls to Senators Cory Gardner and Michael Bennet urging them to support Judge Barrett’s confirmation. AFP will now launch a campaign, which includes digital and newspaper ads, to thank Sen. Cory Gardner and others for voting to confirm Judge Barrett.

AFP-CO State Director Jesse Mallory issued the following statement:

“All Coloradans will benefit from having Judge Amy Coney Barrett on the Supreme Court, and we commend Senator Gardner for voting to confirm her. We thank our grassroots activists for keeping the pressure up to ensure the confirmation of a Justice who will respect the Constitution, interpret the law as written, and uphold our freedoms. Because of them, and Sen. Gardner’s support, Judge Amy Coney Barrett will now be Justice Amy Coney Barrett.”

Americans for Prosperity launched a full-scale national campaign to mobilize its permanent grassroots infrastructure and empower its activists to support Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation to the high court.

The national campaign, which focused on Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Maine, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, and West Virginia, launched just minutes after President Trump nominated Judge Barrett on Sep. 26 and included a robust mix of targeted direct-mail, layered digital ads, and other tactics to supplement activists’ efforts across the country.

AFP also set up a unique UniteForBarrett.com web page that empowered activists to share their support of Judge Barrett with their senators, and the group’s state leaders have taken the conversation directly to the grassroots by talking to members of their communities, writing op-eds in local newspapers, and hitting the airwaves. The group has also hosted 10 live videoconferences for the grassroots activists to hear directly from their senators and state attorneys general, and spearheaded a coalition letter of more than 200 leaders from national and state groups urging senators to confirm Judge Barrett.
