Legislation Lowers Corporate Tax and Reforms Business Personal Property Tax

Indianapolis – Americans for Prosperity – Indiana, the Hoosier state’s leading grassroots advocate for lower taxes and greater economic freedom, today cheered the passage of Senate Bill 1, legislation which will lower the corporate income tax over the course of six years to 4.9%, giving the state the second lowest corporate income tax rate in the country, and allow counties the option to reduce the business personal property tax for job creators in their communities. AFP-IN state director Chase Downham offered the following statement:

“We appreciate the General Assembly’s hard work in passing SB 1 and keeping our state on the path to prosperity. By lowering the corporate income tax to the second lowest rate in the nation and giving counties the option to reduce the business personal property tax, we are signaling to entrepreneurs and small business owners that Indiana is the right place to chase their dreams and create jobs. Americans for Prosperity anxiously awaits the Governor to sign it into law.”

AFP-IN activists sent over 600 emails and placed over 500 phone calls to their legislators in support of Senate Bill 1.
