AFP Arizona Lauds Universal Expansion of Education Savings Accounts

Phoenix, Arizona—Early this morning the Arizona legislature voted to expand the Copper State’s education savings account program by making nearly all Arizonan students eligible to participate. This is a hallmark reform for Arizonans and their families.

Americans for Prosperity-Arizona (AFP-AZ) praised the vote and encouraged Gov. Ducey to sign the bill.

AFP-AZ State Director Stephen Shadegg made the following statement after the final vote:

“Today Arizona once again sets the national standard for educational opportunity. Arizona students and their parents deserve the opportunity to make decisions that best suit the needs of children and their families. Now they will have the latitude to do just that.

“I applaud Senate President Fann, Speaker Bowers and Rep. Ben Toma for championing this bill. As students continue to make up for learning lost in the COVID 19 pandemic, they will have more options to catch up and excel. I urge Governor Ducey to sign this bill and every Arizona parent to look into the program and see if an education savings account might make a difference in their child’s education.”
