Arlington, VA – Today, Americans for Prosperity, the nation’s largest advocate for economic freedom, applauded House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp for introducing discussion drafts on comprehensive tax reform.

“Chairman Camp’s efforts represent a step in the right direction that too many on Capitol Hill have been reluctant to take regarding comprehensive tax reform. Americans for Prosperity looks forward to being a part of the solution to fix our country’s broken system.,” AFP President Tim Phillips said.

He continued, “Chairman Camp’s efforts demonstrate the urgent need to reform our broken tax code. Taxpayers deserve a tax code that is simple and neutral, so we can end the headache that so many Americans deal with every year leading up to April 15.

“The tax burden on American families and businesses is too large and too complex. Reducing the number of tax brackets, lowering rates, and closing loopholes will create an even playing field, allowing for greater job creation and economic growth – the keys to improving the lives of all Americans.”
