AFP Applauds Asm. Ciattarelli’s Push on Estate, Inheritance Taxes

MONMOUTH JUNCTION – Americans for Prosperity state director Daryn Iwicki is praising another New Jersey lawmaker, Assemblymen Jack Ciattarelli (R-16), for taking steps to cut or eliminate New Jersey’s estate and inheritance taxes.

“Yet another member of the New Jersey Legislature has called out for the need to remove the estate tax.

“Asm. Ciattarelli rightfully points out how retirees are legally beating the system and living in another state for 6 months plus a day.  They are either skirting the tax that way or simply picking up and moving altogether, and why wouldn’t they? It doesn’t make much sense to keep a home and pay the nation’s highest property taxes.”

“This issue is gaining traction and it comes from both sides of the aisle which is great to see.  We look forward to many more members signing up to kill the death taxes here in New Jersey and working with them to make this a reality. Just maybe we can change our rating of the worst state to die in.”
