Hundreds of grassroots volunteers will gather for annual Defending the American Dream Summit in Richmond.

RICHMOND – Americans for Prosperity announced today that Ed Gillespie will address hundreds of the group’s grassroots volunteers at its signature annual event, the Defending the American Dream Summit ®, being held for the first time in Richmond on August 19.

The 11th annual Summit is the organization’s centerpiece grassroots event. Each summer, hundreds of volunteers who fight for limited government across the country come together at the Summit to: celebrate recent policy victories; sharpen their grassroots advocacy skills; attend hands-on breakout sessions; network with their peers; and hear from prominent thought leaders across the conservative movement.

Gillespie will take the main stage at the convention-style event alongside the previously announced Virginia House Speaker-Designee Kirk Cox and Federal Communications Commissioner Chairman Ajit Pai.

Americans for Prosperity President Tim Phillips released the following statement:

“For decades, Mr. Gillespie has been a tireless advocate for economic freedom across the state of Virginia and on the national stage. Our volunteers are excited to hear his insights on how we can move Virginia and the nation back in the right direction after years of too much regulation and overspending.”
