Tell your lawmakers to let parents choose charters!
Let Parents Choose Charters!
Charter schools are providing unique learning opportunities for children across the nation – and could do more for children in the Commonwealth if your lawmakers vote yes on SJ 93.
Freed from many regulations but held to high standards, charter schools are able to experiment with unique approaches to learning styles, curriculum, and classroom models. Charters aren’t right for every child, but their creativity and innovation makes them the right choice for many parents.
Unfortunately, Virginia currently heavily restricts charters, preventing parents from being able to choose charters for their children. This could change.
Your lawmakers will soon vote on a bill, SJ 93, to allow the state board of education to approve more charters, as demanded by parents and the local community. Please urge your state senator and representative to vote yes on SJ 93.
