President Tim Phillips: “Reforms Turning Wisconsin Around”

June 01, 2012

An update from the road, fighting for Wisconsin taxpayers

We’re just leaving Eau Claire, Wisconsin after having a great crowd of fired-up folks for our event! Even better, after the event over 2 dozen activists piled onto our bus and made literally hundreds of phone calls to key households across Wisconsin.

Our message is simple but crucial—Governor Walker’s reforms are literally turning Wisconsin around.

Yesterday I walked door to door in New Berlin, Wisconsin with a wonderful lady in her mid-70’s named Lou.  I asked her why she was volunteering and working so hard.  She proudly told me she was one of the first 500 AFP Wisconsin activists joining our team way back in 2005. Lou went on to tell me that she’s doing everything she can to make Wisconsin a better place for her two grandkids.

Tomorrow we kick off in the beautiful town of Hudson, Wisconsin with an event at 9 a.m. By the way, I have a twin son named Hudson. Today, I called him to tell him we’re going to be a town named Hudson. As only a teenage boy can do, he said “It’s about time someone named a city after me.” We’ll head west to La Crosse and then back to Madison and we’ll wrap up the tour Saturday morning in Racine.

Being on the ground for several days in Wisconsin now, I can tell you the energy from the Left has waned while our side remains utterly committed to seeing these reforms through. There’s a reason why: the budget reforms are working and Wisconsin is stronger than ever.
