Americans for Prosperity Foundation to Celebrate Milton Friedman’s 100th Birthday
Celebration to focus on Friedman’s tireless advocacy for school choice

Madison, WI – July 31st would have been Milton Friedman’s 100th birthday and Americans for Prosperity Foundation – Wisconsin will be holding an event to commemorate his life and achievements.  The event will focus on Friedman’s work to advance school choice programs and reform our educational system.  Friedman is considered a champion of free market and limited government principles around the world.

The free-market, limited government movement wouldn’t be where it is today without the efforts and teachings of Milton Friedman,” said Luke Hilgemann, State Director of AFPF-Wisconsin.  “We are still learning so much from Mr. Friedman and we hope this event will help spread the message and educate citizens on the work of Mr. Friedman.  His work on school choice helped create the first Wisconsin program in Milwaukee and continues to be a source of inspiration.”

Scheduled to speak at the event are Jim Bender, President of School Choice Wisconsin, Brian Pleva from American Federation for Children and Representative Robin Vos.  All three speakers were instrumental in expanding school choice to Racine last legislative session.

What:  Milton Friedman 100th Birthday Celebration
Where:  Country Springs Hotel, Woodfield Room
When:  July 31st – 6:30-8pm

We are honored to have a line-up of speakers that have been pushing to improve our schools and give options to families that need it most,” Hilgemann said.  “Our state needs real education reform and school choice has been a proven tool to get kids the education they deserve.  This will be a great event and a stepping stone to continued education reforms in the future.”
