1,000 Activists Attend Wisconsin Defending the American Dream Summit

March 29, 2012

On March 24th, nearly 1,000 activists came to Milwaukee to attend the “Defending the American Dream Summit” sponsored by the Americans for Prosperity Foundation. The day was filled with speakers from around the country and seminars on how to more effectively get our message out. Headlining the event were Presidential Candidate Rick Santorum, Senator Ron Johnson and Congressman Paul Ryan. Attendees shared ideas on how to promote small government, lower taxes and economic freedom.

Luke Hilgemann, Wisconsin State Director, served as the emcee for the event and kept the energy up all day. “Wisconsin has been an example for the rest of the country. It’s events like this that show everyone the conservative movement is strong and willing to fight for our values,” said Hilgemann.

Joining Santorum, Johnson and Ryan were National Talk Show Host Tony Katz, Conservative Pundit Michele Malkin, State Representative Robin Vos and AFP Foundation President Tim Phillips. The event had national coverage from the LA Times to the Politico and even Japanese News Service NHK.
