AFP-Wisconsin Celebrates Historic Tax Reform

Assembly and Senate pass 2013-14 State Budget, Governor next to act

Madison… Americans for Prosperity – Wisconsin State Director Luke Hilgemann released the following statement following Senate passage of the State Budget:

“Thank you to all of the legislators who stood up and voted yes on this important budget,” said Hilgemann.  “Wisconsin has come a long way from the days of tax increases and growing government control.  We can be proud of passing a budget that cuts taxes by more than $650 million, expands school choice, freezes University of Wisconsin tuition and reforms entitlements.”

“While our neighbors in Minnesota and Illinois will fork over more money than ever to the government, hardworking taxpayers here will see a break.  More money in the pockets of Wisconsin families will benefit everyone.  No budget is perfect, we need to work harder to cut back on spending and borrowing but this is a pro-growth budget that will put Wisconsin on the path to prosperity.

“None of this would have been possible without the thousands of AFP activists that contacted their legislators in support of this budget.  The grassroots spoke up and we were able to pass historic tax reform.”
