October 4th Grassroots Tour Kicks off in Washington

SEAVIEW, WA – The premiere grassroots mobilizing group, Americans for Prosperity, will launch its Cut Spending Now Tour on October 4th in Washington State, home of Super Committee co-chairman Sen. Patty Murray, and will move across the country before arriving on November 5th at the national Defending the American Dream Summit in Washington, DC.

Nansen Malin, AFP Washington State Director, expressed concern that the government is trying to spend our way into prosperity:

“With federal spending growing at a rate 10 times faster the median income, the burden on every Washington State taxpayer continues to be overwhelming. At a time when many families are making sacrifices, our government chooses to recklessly spend even more money resulting in the US debt being the size of our entire economy.”

How the rise of trendy environmentalism is harming the planet.

REPRINTED from Seattle Times:
Guest columnist Todd Myers considers that not all consumer choices or products yield the environmental benefit that people are led to believe they have.

By Todd Myers
Special to The Times

"GREEN is a trend and people go with trends. ... I don't think people know the real facts."

These words of a green consumer reported in The New York Times last year echo what we see everywhere: environmentalism has become trendy, and green fashion is all the rage.

From plaques on the sides of "green" buildings, to bright green reusable grocery bags and hybrid cars, the evidence is everywhere. People like to publicly proclaim their concern for the planet, politicians prominently highlight their latest green proposals and business owners promote environmentally friendly products — while each seeks to reap social and financial rewards in the process.

Office Blitz to Save America!

July 13, 2011 J

Join the huge coalition of conservative and tea party organizations in a nationwide effort to visit U.S. House Members’ district offices. The grassroots message this coalition will carry is that representatives must support a balanced budget amendment to U.S. Constitution that has spending caps and a requirement for a supermajority vote to raise taxes.

“Our grassroots are really worked up about the need for this balanced budget amendment, with tough limits on spending and taxes. State and local governments all need to work each year to bring their books into order and it’s long past time that the federal government take similar steps,” said Americans for Prosperity Washington State Director, Nansen Malin. “We’re going to visit our federal representatives’ district offices because they need to know how important this amendment is to free market grassroots activists all across this country.”
