AFP-VA is gearing up for the legislative session, that starts on Wednesday, by hosting town halls this weekend! We will be in Roanoke on Friday, January 16th, and in Lynchburg on Saturday, January 17th.

We hope you'll be able to join us and get excited about the upcoming legislative session.

In addition to being able to discuss pertinent issues, this town hall will be an opportunity for citizens to learn how they can easily make their voices heard in the upcoming General Assembly session in Richmond.

In preparation for the budget cuts that Virginia legislators must make this session, it is time for the Virginia State Senate to cut their budget.

In December of 2008, Speaker of the House Bill Howell announced that the House of Delegates would be making cuts in their operating budget that saved the Virginia taxpayer $1.1 million. Now it is time for the Senate to do the same.
