What Happened to the Power of the Purse?

July 26, 2012

As we travel around Virginia we hear the same message for women—we want real solutions, not more partisan pandering.  This week, AFP-VA has launched a web AD “The Power of the Purse.” Our goal is to build a network of women from all walks of life to stand for policies that create a healthier economy for their family, their community and their country.

One issue at the top of women’s minds: the rising cost of living. Women, who are more likely to be responsible for the household budget, have certainly noticed they’re paying more for day-to-day needs like food and energy—and it’s likely to get worse before it gets better.

Will you join us in this effort? There are four ways that you can help us right now.

1. Make phone calls from home. Email acelotto@afphq.org if you would like to make calls from the comfort of your own home.

2. Serve as a “Purse Power Captain” in your home county. You will serve as the “face for our organization in your home county, while continuing to help us recruit more women to be involved.

3. Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter: @afpva

4. Forward this email to your network. As women, we’re incredibly busy, but we have an amazing network of friends and colleagues. We can make a real difference simply by clicking “forward”!

We’re all in this together and appreciate any time that you can give to help make our economy healthier for America’s future.
