We aren’t friends
This past weekend, we at Americans for Prosperity-Virginia launched our official campaign against Medicaid expansion in Virginia. In the shadow of the state Capitol, we joined with die-hard freedom fighter Dana Loesch to kick off our first Super Saturday.
Before sending our nearly 100 activists on a day-long canvassing effort in the district of Delegate Jimmie Massie, Dana shared an important reminder with us: “we’re not here to be friends with politicians. They’re our employees!”
And it’s as our employees that we are sending a message to Delegate Massie: stop caving to special interests and do your job. Thanks to our hardworking activists, we are certain he heard that message.
Dana explained that our work “isn’t just knocking on someone’s door,” it’s a war. “You guys are foot soldiers! You’re the first contact in this!”
A battle is raging in the Commonwealth – a battle for the future of fiscal responsibility, patient choice, and our basic freedoms. That’s why we aren’t here to play nice and be friendly with our politicians – we’re here to get them to do their job.
All eyes are on us in this fight. We’re going to hold the line against Medicaid expansion! Will you?
