Virginia's Healthcare Hang-up
That’s how many doors we visited last week in Senator Hanger’s district in Staunton.
Annie , Americans for Prosperity is waging nothing short of a ground war in the Commonwealth to stop ObamaCare from being implemented through Medicaid expansion, and Senator Hanger remains one of our primary question marks. Will he stand with Virginia, or with the Obama administration and DC bureaucrats who want to ram Medicaid expansion down our throats – at the expense of our poorest residents and hard-working taxpayers?
This picture is just one example of the many interactions our (largely young!) freedom fighters had with neighbors in Senator Hanger’s district in Staunton. You can watch a video here of our activists in action!
Our next battle will take place on Tuesday, October 15th, when we return to Richmond for the first (and likely only) public hearing on Medicaid expansion. As with our last two trips, we will provide free bus accommodation to the state capitol and back. If you’ve missed one of our last few rallies for health care freedom, this is the one you want to attend!
We’ll be looking for key activists to share personal thoughts with the commission about the importance of opposing Medicaid expansion. If you have a personal story or thoughts that you’d like to share, please let me know! We’ll make sure you are armed with key talking points and even can help you rehearse your remarks.
I realize you’ve heard a lot about Medicaid expansion in the last few months and might be getting tired. Trust me, so am I! The good news is that the public momentum is on our side. It’s crucial that we keep up the pressure on the General Assembly to make sure they know that Virginians want more health care freedom, not a bigger, broken bureaucracy.
On behalf of Americans for Prosperity, thank you for your tireless contributions to liberty and limited government!
