TODAY: AFP ACTIVISTS DEMONSTRATE AT REAGAN NATIONAL AIRPORT
Message: Keep Politics Off Our Planes!
ARLINGTON, VA – Today Americans for Prosperity activists will gather at Reagan National Airport to speak out against the budget mismanagement & political games that are causing flight delays for thousands of passengers.
AFP-Virginia State Director Dave Schwartz said, “The White House seems intent on making moderate spending cuts as painful as possible. Even though the Department of Transportation is better funded this year than last, the budget has been poorly managed and the FAA has not been given the same flexibility as other agencies.”
WHAT: Stand Up for Passengers Protest
WHEN: Today, April 25th from 11:00AM – 1:30PM
WHERE: Reagan National Airport, in front of Departures Door Entrance #1 (South demonstration area)
AFP activists will gather to help educate the public on the real cause of delayed flights that are wreaking havoc on a stunning 40% of airline passengers across the country. Many airline officials, industry experts, and elected lawmakers say the FAA has “other means” to achieve the budget reduction “other than to impact the traveling public.”
AFP President Tim Phillips said, “Federal revenues are higher this year than last, yet we’re seeing White House tours canceled & needless flight delays. Why are taxpayers paying more for poorer service? Our message to President Obama is keep politics off our planes!”
