New AFP-VA State Director
Are you ready to fight for freedom in Virginia?
I am – and as the new Virginia State Director, the time to fight is now.
As a native of our neighbor to the north, Maryland, I witnessed first-hand how liberal policies destroyed a once-great state. Politicians up there think that government is the solution to every problem. Higher taxes and more government control have forced thousands of Marylanders, like me, my wife and our 12-month-old baby girl, to leave the state.
Now, liberals want to do the same in the Commonwealth of Virginia…
Whether it’s raising taxes in Washington or expanding Obamacare in Richmond, liberals want to take away our individual liberties and expand the culture of dependency. Part of President Obama’s plan is to make Virginia a laboratory for his liberal policies – just like Maryland. The entire country is watching what happens in the Commonwealth this year – and it’s up to you and me to make the winning difference.
It won’t be easy, and it won’t happen overnight, but I believe we can stop the liberals this year and make Virginia a better place to live, grow and do business into the future.
My plan is simple: first, we build from the bottom up with grassroots action. Over the past few weeks, Americans for Prosperity has begun to organize county and city chapters. These volunteer community organizers will hold their local politicians accountable by bringing local activists together in the fight for freedom.
The second part of the plan is to expand our activist base by registering conservatives to vote. Liberals have registered 5 million new voters over the last 5 years – we must fight back! This spring, AFP activists will be knocking on doors and attending major events to find, recruit and register new conservative activists to vote. Our goal is to register 10,000 new voters by June 30th.
To hear more about our plan, and how you can join us in the fight for freedom here in the Commonwealth, sign up for our statewide conference call that will take place tomorrow, Thursday, April 11th, at 7pm. The call shouldn’t last more than 30 minutes. To get the call-in information that you will need to join, simply reply to this e-mail.
I’m looking forward to working with you – and chatting with you on Thursday! Let’s get it done…for you, for our kids, and for Virginia.
