Micro-unions, Uranium, and Wine...

August 23, 2012

As you may know, a few weeks ago we launched our women’s coalition – the “Power of the Purse.” We’ve had a tremendous response of support from those who want to be more involved in their community, and we are hoping that you will do the same!

Will you reach out to your network of friends and ask them to join our coalition? By copying us on an email to 10 friends and encouraging them to join our efforts, you will register yourself to win one of four $100 gift certificates to use for an evening at King Family Vineyard with your friends or family.  Click here for more information about the contest.

Also, I want to highlight a piece of legislation that I think you should be aware of. Currently, the U.S. Senate is looking at legislation to overturn ludicrous regulations coming out of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). As you may know, the NLRB has bent over backwards to make unionizing a workplace as easy as possible for big labor and as expensive and difficult as possible for business owners, even in right to work states like Virginia. However, Tim Kaine has failed to take a stance on this issue. We need you to join with us in telling Tim Kaine to stand with Virginia’s business community by forcefully opposing micro-unions.

Lastly, the Virginia Uranium Working Group is holding an important public meeting on Tuesday, August 28th, starting at 6pm at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. Please join the discussion and share your thoughts on uranium mining in Virginia.
