Americans for Prosperity-Virginia and the New River Valley Tea Party Denounce Montgomery County Real Estate Tax Hike
Richmond, VA The Virginia chapter of Americans for Prosperity and the New River Valley Tea Party have joined efforts to oppose any tax increase proposed by the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors. Montgomery County Supervisors are trying to increase the county property tax rate as much as 32 percent.
This tax hike will increase the burden on every family and business by several hundred dollars, explained Audrey Jackson, Virginia State Director of Americans for Prosperity. Local government may see dollar signs when they think of raising taxes, but in the real world, these tax increases cut into the pocketbooks of our countys families and small businesses.

With the March 10th deadline approaching, the Virginia Senate has an opportunity to pass a fiscally responsible budget that puts our state back on the path to prosperity.
Tell your state senator to stop dragging their feet and pass a budget that looks out for the best interest of the taxpayer. Tell the Virginia Senate that it's time to stop playing partisan poltics with the well-being of the citizens.

Even with the largest budget in Virginia history, several Virginia lawmakers are still not satisfied and until they get their demands, they are holding the Virginia budget hostage and bringing no solutions to the table.
