“Stand Up for Passengers” Event Blames White House for Flight Delays
ARLINGTON, VA – Tomorrow AFP-Virginia will gather activists at Reagan National Airport to speak out against political games that are causing flight delays for thousands of passengers.
AFP-Virginia State Director Dave Schwartz said, “The Obama Administration is clearly behind these flight delays, playing politics with the traveling public and attempting to make the sequester cuts as painful as possible. In reality, the Department of Transportation has a bigger budget this year than last even with the sequester cuts. The only reason for delayed flights is budget mismanagement and cynical politics.”
WHAT: Stand Up for Passengers Protest
WHEN: Thursday, April 25th from 10:30AM – 1:30PM
WHERE: Reagan National Airport, in front of Door Entrance #1 (South demonstration area)
AFP activists will gather to help educate the public on the real cause of delayed flights that are wreaking havoc on a stunning 40% of airline passengers across the country. Many airline officials, industry experts, and elected lawmakers say the FAA has “other means” to achieve the budget reduction “other than to impact the traveling public.”
“Just like closing the White House to tours in March, these flight delays are an intentional stunt by an administration intent on removing all barriers to wasteful government spending,” continued Schwartz.
