AFP-VA Responds to Passage of HJ40

February 10, 2014

RICHMOND—Americans for Prosperity-Virginia State Director Sean Lansing issued the following statement Thursday after the Virginia House of Delegates passed legislation (HJ40) requiring an expansive audit of the Commonwealth’s broken and costly Medicaid program:

“There is no question that Virginia’s Medicaid program is a broken and costly drain on the health care and pocketbooks of Virginia taxpayers. Today’s vote by the House of Delegates is a step in the right direction, and it gets us closer to actually repairing Medicaid instead of blindly doubling down on a program that continues to fail our most vulnerable citizens and our taxpayers.”
