Education Reform Townhall - Belton, TX

Americans for Prosperity – Texas in conjunction with the Central Texas Tea Party will host an education town hall meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, at Cathedral Oaks Event Center in Belton.

Panelists will include Peggy Venable, Texas Director of Americans for Prosperity, a representative from charter schools and Lou Ann Anderson from Watchdog Wire will moderate. Individually tailored social media training will be available after the panel discussion. This is a free event however as seating is limited, reservations are recommended. Registration will start at 6:30 p.m.

“Education is the top topic at the State Capitol this legislative session,” Venable said. “Education reform and innovation provide new options for students and teachers.”

The forum will provide information on key pieces of legislation being considered and also provide a briefing on the controversial CSCOPE lesson plan which is used by over 850 school districts in Texas. Why is CSCOPE so controversial and what are legislators considering doing to provide more transparency to the program?
