Texas again beats the national average!

April 17, 2014

We Texans continue to have a lot to brag about.  Last week was the federal income tax filing deadline and while those of us in the Lone Star State felt the pain of overtaxation, we enjoyed tax freedom day a full 8 days earlier than the nation.  April 21st is national Tax Freedom Day – the day when the nation’s taxpayers have earned enough to pay off all their local, state and federal taxes.  Tax Freedom Day is brought to us by our friends at the Tax Foundation.

But those of us in the Lone Star State hit that milestone on April 13th.

And we Texans get to “keep” an entire paycheck more than Californians do (April 13 vs. April 30).
