Free-market group honors legislators who ace legislative scorecard.
NASHVILLE — AFP-Tennessee is preparing to release its legislative scorecard for state lawmakers in Nashville. The scores are based on votes taken and sponsorship of a variety of free-market legislation the group prioritized. The legislators scoring the highest marks overall were named the organization’s Champions of Prosperity today.
AFP-Tennessee State Director Andrew Ogles released the following statement:
“Out of all the House members, theses Champions of Prosperity have gone above and beyond to lead our state in economic reforms. They have proven themselves dedicated public servants in their commitment to repealing the Hall Income Tax, promoting statewide school choice vouchers, and stopping the federal overreach of Common Core.”
The organization named the following Representatives Champions of Prosperity:
Sheila Butt, Joe Carr, Glen Casada, Barry Doss, Jeremy Durham, Joshua Evans, Jeremy Faison, Richard Floyd, Tilman Goins, Curtis Halford, Steve Hall, Andy Holt, Mary Littleton, Susan Lynn, Judd Matheny, Jimmy Matlock, Debra Moody, Mark Pody, Dennis Powers, John Ragan, Billy Spivey, Micah Van Huss, Ryan Williams and Rick Womick.
“We commend these members for achieving this honor and taking a stand against big government in Tennessee,” Ogles said.
The legislative scorecard for State Senators will be released this week, with another round of Champions of Prosperity to be named.
