Just leaving Norton, Virginia where 54 intrepid freedom-fighters braved a downpour in the middle of a work day to join us at our "Hands off my health care" event.

People are fired up and working to defeat this terrible health care legislation. In fact during our Norton event just about every activist there whipped out their cells phones and within moments Senator Warner's office had a voice mail saying "...due to the high volume of calls our office voice mail is now on."

Another strong event -- even in the rain -- in Bristol last night. Over 100 folks turned out along with two local state reps: Terry Kilgore and Bill Carico.

Just about everyone signed the "hands off our health care" petition and whipped out their cell phones to call Senator Webb and Senator Warner's offices with the same message.

This morning we're heading to Gate City and then Norton.

We just left the Wytheville, Virginia courthouse rally where a fired up crowd of over 150 grassroots activists were calling their two Senators, Webb and Warner, telling them to vote NO on the health care takeover! Now, we’re on the road to Bristol for our 7pm rally there.

We're at a crucial point in our battle to stop Speaker Pelosi’s push to pass a 1,017-page health care bill and just like with the Stimulus, members of Congress are refusing to read the entire bill before voting on it.

The big vote on whether the thing will pass is still tentatively set for Friday, but sources tell us that Speaker Pelosi knows the votes just are not there at the moment – so they are considering postponing the vote until after their August recess, which would be a significant victory for us.
